Since winning the World Barista Championship in 2003 Paul Bassett has become one of the World's foremost contemporary coffee authorities with his focus being to communicate the message of specialty coffee.

Paul has developed and hosted entertaining, informative coffee related television media including the documentary program "Coffee Crazy" and the 13 part series "Living Coffee". This was the first ever television series on coffee to be produced and its global success is still reaching audiences in Europe, Oceania, Asia and South America on channels such as Discovery.

A certified judge and board member of the technical standards committee for the World Barista championship Paul is involved in the development of standards for the WBC.

As a brand Ambassador for Sunbeam he plays a major role in the product development of their espresso machine and grinder range, working closely with in house designers and engineers. Recently he released his own signature espresso machine and grinder and has developed a nation wide coffee appreciation school as part of this relationship.

Paul is also a resource for many lifestyle publications and is often featured in the likes of Gourmet Traveller, Vogue entertaining & travel, Delicious and "Crema" magazine, sharing insight into all areas of coffee culture.

In early 2006 Paul opened his first espresso bar/coffee roastery concept store in Ginza, Tokyo. This store is collaboration with world patissier champion Tsujiguchi and has been designed to give an interactive experience, show casing the roasting process and theatre of the barista, while harmonising the elements of coffee and chocolate.
